Rocky Mtn Oyster & Red Dirt Festival
The Montrose County Event Center invites you to have a ball, or two, at the inaugural Rocky Mountain Oyster & Red Dirt Music Festival in Montrose, Colorado on Saturday, April 24th. Join us in recognizing the county’s agricultural heritage with live music and fun while enjoying a western delicacy known as cowboy caviar, prairie oysters, calf fries, or rocky mountain oysters.
Nuts aside, the festival will also feature red dirt country music. Best described as a mix of folk, rock, country, bluegrass, blues and honky-tonk music, red dirt music is often referred to as country music with a little bit of attitude. Headlining this year’s event will be the Sam Cox Band.
Beyond the bull fries and red dirt music, the festival will include the one-and-only Gonad Championships. Teams will be auctioned off at the start of the night and then will compete in a “nut inspired” obstacle course. Both the winning team and winning buyer will walk away with a portion of the auction proceeds.
We say “grab life by the balls” and get your tickets early!
